從加拿大向你們問安！10月10日是加拿大的感恩節。當我們回顧過去一年的時候，我們有很多值得感恩的事情。儘管因年老而身體上出現一些小毛病，但我們的身心靈仍然健康。來自家人的愛和關懷讓我們開心；我們的朋友、教會的肢體都給我們支持和鼓勵。我們差會的領導，也給我們鼓勵並寶貴的建議。最重要的是，父神的愛和恩惠與我們同在。當感到挫敗和無助時，我們可以藉著主耶穌死而復活的能力得勝。聖靈常以微弱的聲音安慰我們，使我們能認罪悔改。

        在上次祈禱信中，我們祈求活石教會會友能有渴慕神話語的心。讚美天父，本地同工波拿和沙域在教會崇拜後，為青年人開了兩個查經小組。願他們有智慧和能力說出祂的話，好使來參加的青年人把主的話記在心裡，應用在生活上。

        非常感謝您在祈禱中，並在各方面支持我們。以下是我們的讚美和禱告項目：

感恩事項：

1. 高姊妹成功用電腦向政府呈交了財務報告！
2. 基督教新生命學校的校長答應接納新光幼稚園的畢業生可以入讀他們的小學，這樣學生便可以在基督教學校中成長。
3. 天父給我們和高姊妹有訓練少年人的異象。她計劃在周六成立一個少年小組，教導他們生活技能和聖經的價值觀。
4. 教會神學生屋噹在兒童主日學結束後，成立了一個少年小組。他們一起互相認識、祈禱。

求恩事項：

1. 心聆姊妹八月份回到丈夫身邊，但因發現他吸毒，所以又離開了。祈求上帝保守她和兩個兒子，又她的丈夫能認識耶穌並能戒毒。
2. 新光幼稚園需要兩名英文老師，請你來參與服侍。

Dear family, brothers and sisters in Christ,

        Greetings from Canada! October 10th is Canadian Thanksgiving Day. As we reflect on the past year we have so much to be thankful for. We have a sound mind and good health despite some minor problems because of old age. Love and care from family members give us joy. Friends and church families are our encouragement and support.  The leaders of our mission board are always there to encourage and give us advice. Most of all God our Father loves us and He is always with us. When we feel defeated and helpless, we can claim our Lord Jesus victory. The Holy Spirit’s still small voice comforts us and convicts of our sins so that we can repent.

        In our last newsletter we asked for prayer that the church members of Living Stone Church would thirst for God’s words. Praise God that our Khmer staff, Phalla and Savy have started 2 Bible study groups for young people after church. May they have wisdom and power to bring forth His words and the young people will keep His words in their hearts and apply them in their lives.

        Thank you so much for upholding us in your prayer and supporting us in all areas. The following are our praise and prayer items:

• Angel Gao successfully submitted all the paperwork for the tax purposes of our mission, Cambodian Evangelist Mission, and was approved!
• The principal of New Life School gave our Sonlight Kindergarten a go ahead for our students to continue at their grade school.
• God gave us and Angel Gao the vision to train the teens. She has been planning a teen group on Saturday to teach them about life skills and values.
• Udom, our Bible School student, started a teen group after church.

Prayer items:

• Our Khmer staff, Phalla and Savy need skills and wisdom to resolve conflicts in their marriage.
• Som Neang went back to her husband in August but recently she left again because he is taking drugs. Pray that God will protect her and 2 boys, and that her husband will know Jesus.
• Our kindergarten is still looking for 2 English teachers.

親愛的主內弟兄姊妹們，平安：

        自從上次寫代禱信後，很快便過了兩個多月。四月時女兒欣義患上新冠肺炎。五月時女婿和約瑟也同時染疫。我們四人住在一屋子，只有月甜一人沒有感染。她是一家之「煮」，我們每天的食糧由她準備。

        為紀念福音傳入柬埔寨一百年，明年一月會有一個大型慶典。波拿傳道是籌委會成員之一，他與其他領袖一同忙碌籌劃這次盛會。預料會有三萬人參加，並會邀請柬埔寨總理洪森和政府不同的部門的官員參加。在６月25日會有一個聚會給三千人參加。全部預算是23萬美元。

感恩事項：

1. 感謝天父保守欣義、女婿和約瑟，他們患新冠肺炎後幾天便好了。在柬埔寨的同工們已接種第四針。
2. Ponleu是活石堂的年青人，今年考12班公開試成績優異，獲得總理洪森的獎金及大學的獎學金。
3. 新光幼稚園在今年一月重開之後，現有學生52名，托兒所有35小朋友。

求恩事項：

1. 新光幼稚園有一位老師辭職，求天父為我們預備兩位愛小孩子和英文流利的老師。
2. Som Neang曾在新光幼稚園任清潔員，她在活石堂信主。因家暴，她帶了兩個兒子回娘家居住。請記念她，願神保守她的信心。
3. 大兒子思義暫未打算找新工作，會在家中看顧四個兒女。大的兩位已入讀一和二年級，小的是四歲和兩歲。媳婦小鳳是註冊護士，為了多點時間在家中幫忙看顧孩子，只能部分時間工作。請記念他們有耐性和智慧看顧兒女，帶領他們親近神！

Dear family, brothers and sisters in Christ,

        Time has gone by so fast; it’s 2 months since we wrote last time! In April, Lydia, our daughter got Covid and in May Joseph and Patrick, our son-in-law got it at the same time. Praise God that Liza was healthy in taking care of them.

        A big celebration among the Christian circle in Cambodia will happen next January 2023. It is the 100th year of the gospel that came to this country. There have been lots of planning and meetings among the Christian leaders. They are expecting a gathering of 30,000 people. Many government officials will be invited. There will be a rally of 3,000 people on June 25. Their budget for the celebration is US$230,000. May God be glorified in these events.

        Recently Joseph was interviewed by Dr. Bruce Oliver in the Abundant Life Podcast. The title is Walking in His leading. Praise items:

• Speedy recovery from Covid-19 for Lydia, Patrick and Joseph. In Cambodia, our church staff had their 4th shot of Covid immunization.
• Ponleu, one of the young people at Livingstone Church passed the grade 12 public examination with flying colors. He receives full scholarships from the university and the Prime Minister Hun Sun.
• The Sonlight Kindergarten was reopened in January. Now we have 52 students and 35 toddlers in the nursery.

Prayer items:

• The Sonlight Kindergarten needs two new teachers. We ask God to provide teachers who love children and are good in English and possibly also Chinese.
• Som Neang, who was our cleaning lady at Sonlight Kindergarten resigned. Her husband often beats her up. Now she and two children left him and lives with her Dad. Pray that she keeps trusting God.
• Simeon, our first son, stops looking for a new job for now while his wife is a Registered Nurse who is working part time. Pray that they have patience and wisdom to look after 4 children ranging from 2-8 years old, and lead them to know God.

        「耶和華說、我的意念、非同你們的意念、我的道路、非同你們的道路。天怎樣高過地、照樣我的道路、高過你們的道路、我的意念、高過你們的意念。」（以賽亞書55:8-9）在活石堂的同工關係中，我們見到這經文的實在。近日有兩件事情發生，在人看來是不好的，但過後卻有「好」在其中。日前活石堂女同工沙域與新光幼稚園主任發生爭執，她們都因這事不開心。沙域不再為幼稚園午餐買食物，改在教會三樓的大廳與丈夫波拿傳道吃午餐。感謝主，在高韙——我們的宣教同工調解之下，二人得著和解。另一件事是教會閣樓辦公室的無線上網出了問題，沙域本在那裡辦工，但三樓可以無線上網，她便多在三樓，與波拿多了時間讀經、禱告和談話。

        我們在卡加利安好，春天已到。疫情已緩和，在公眾場所不用戴口罩，教會可以實體聚會。我們仍與在金邊的波拿和沙域在星期一到五有祈禱會，星期六與他倆和部分時間同工屋噹夫婦查經。約瑟每個月一次預備講章，由波拿在活石堂崇拜分享。感謝主，我們可以在線上與同工們聯繫，彼此守望。主的話是活潑的屬靈寶劍，能剌入、剖開心中的思念和主意。但願我們能在主的話語上長進，向下扎根，向上結果。

感恩事項：

1. 過去兩年同工未能用電子化程式交本地中福的年稅。高韙在一宣教士的同工協助下成功完成，而且免去手續費。
2. 情人節時，託兒所的媬姆帶她們的丈夫來參加夫婦特別聚會。請記念她們未信主的丈夫能認識主。
3. 新光幼稚園已在二月重開，今個月多了學生及幼兒來上課。

求恩事項：

1. 波拿、沙域和高韙三人能組織成三股合成的繩子，同心事奉。
2. 請記念波拿和沙域的大兒子約瑟，他已經二十多歲，需要學習為主委身。
3. 我們大兒子思義在找工作，媳婦小鳳有部分時間護士工作。求主叫他們能靠主供應生活所需。

        祝復活節快樂！但願基督復活的大能成為我們的力量。

2022年4月

Dear family, brothers and sisters in Christ,

        Isaiah 55:8,9 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” We can identify this verse in our Living Stone Church! There were 2 incidents that were not good in man’s eyes with our church lady worker, Savy. Firstly, she had an argument with the administrator of our school. That brought hurt and anger on both sides. Our church worker stopped buying food for the school, so she does not eat lunch with the school staff and students. Instead, she eats lunch on the third floor with her husband, Phalla. Praise God with the help from Him and interaction from Angel Gao, our new missionary the two ladies reconciled. Secondly the internet does not work well at the church office, so Savy had to go to the third floor where Phalla’s office is. Angel told us that Savy and her husband have been spending more time reading God’s words, praying, and talking together. God’s thoughts and ways are much higher than ours.

        We are doing well in Calgary. Enjoying the spring that is finally here! We are still praying with Phalla and Savy 4 times a week and studying God’s words once a week with them, and Udom, our part time worker and his wife as well. Through all these we can know about their needs, and we can support one another. God’s words are sharper than the two-edged sword that pierces into our soul and spirit. All of us have grown spiritually and trusted God more and more! God is so good!

Praises:

• The annual tax of our local mission through e-filing was successfully done and submitted.
• The special Valentine’s Day meeting for the School’s nannies and their husbands was well attended. Pray that we will have more ways to reach out to the husbands.
• More and more students and toddlers have been registered at Sonlight kindergarten.

• Phalla and Savy unite with one heart with Angel Gao to serve God and His people.
• Joseph, the son of Phalla and Savy, that he walks closely with God.
• Our elder son, Simeon, is looking for a job, his wife has a part-time nursing job. Please pray that they can trust God for providing all their needs.

        這世界被新冠病毒和變種病毒反轉了。人們都因新冠疫情需要保持距離／隔離而產生了很多問題。不少人失去工作，也有人擔心會失去工作。有些人因為反對注射疫苗和戴口罩來示威，也有國家選擇與病毒共存而取消抗疫，但現在已有很多人因新冠肺炎而死亡。我們的盼望是在依靠天父，「在洪水泛濫之時，耶和華坐著為王；耶和華坐著為王，直到永遠。」（詩篇29:10）在這動盪的末世中，祂仍在掌管萬有。在希伯來書13:5b「因為主曾說：我總不撇下你，也不丟棄你。」讓我們定睛耶穌基督並信靠祂。

1. 為幼稚園職員開辦的啟發課程已結束。其中一位老師藍保有復興，現在星期日返教會和在兒童主日學幫忙做助教，媬姆們亦返教會崇拜。

3. 活石堂在宗教部註冊，需要有會友50人簽名之要求已達標。
4. 約瑟小腸氣手術後已復原。

求恩事項：

1. 2月13日星期日下午有情人節特別聚會，給新光幼稚園和託兒所的員工，和她們的丈夫來參加，希望藉此讓我們能認識她們的配偶。
2. 高韙姊妹今年一月開始加入我們的團隊。她已在教會事奉了10年，我們不在柬埔寨時，求主叫她能有智慧在教會和幼稚園中作帶領。她在兒童主日學、少年人和青年中事奉。請為她的籌款祈禱。
3. 柬埔寨稅務局要求本地和外國非牟利機構在網上交稅。去年上網報稅出現困難，我們需僱用專業人士處理，盼望今年可以自行上網報稅。

Dear Family and friends,

        Happy Chinese New Year! May God’s protection and presence be with you! The world has been turned upside down with Covid-19 and its variants. People are isolated with different emotional issues because of social distancing. Some have lost their jobs and some are fearful of losing theirs. There are divisions and protests about wearing face masks. It is so sad many people lost their lives and many are living with the side effects of covid. There is much sad news everyday, however as believers we have hope in God. As in Psalms 29:10 “The Lord sits enthroned over the flood; the Lord is enthroned as King forever.” Over all these problems around us our God is still in control! And He promised not to leave us nor forsake us as in Hebrew 13:5b “For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.”

        Let us fix our eyes upon Jesus and trust God’s promises! Thank you for supporting us in different ways. Please continue to remember our praise and prayer items!

Praises:

• The Alpha Course for the staff of Sonlight Kindergarten was finished. Rambo, one of the teachers who was backslidden, has been coming to church and helping with children Sunday School. The nannies come to church regularly.
• Sonlight Kindergarten was reopened on January 3rd.
• More than 50 members signed the form for registration of church; it needs to be registered every 2 years.
• Joseph’s hernia surgery went well and was healed fast.

Prayers:

• A special meeting for Sonlight Kindergarten staff and their husbands on February 13. Pray that many will show up.
• Angel Gao joins our CEM team in January 2022. Actually she has been helping our living Stone Church 10 year ago. Please pray that she has wisdom and discernment to oversee the Church and school. She is also involved in children Sunday school, teenager and youth ministry. Please pray for her financial support.
• The Cambodian government started e-filing for filing yearly taxes for foreign and local NGO organizations. Last year Pastor Phalla hired someone to do it. Please pray this year we can do it ourselves.

感恩事項：

1. 自從2003年之後，今年是我們第一次在加拿大過冬天，感恩現在還不算冷，差不多每天仍可以出外漫步。
2. 約瑟在12月6日做了小腸氣手術，正康復中。
3. 新光幼稚園的同工參加啟發課程時很投入，在討論時更主動發問，求神開啟他們信主的心。

代禱事項：

1. 活石堂每兩年要向宗教部註冊，要申報行政架構，參加聚會的成人和兒童的名字和身分證號碼，教會在國外的經濟支持和相關證明。
2. 新光幼稚園在11月開始實體上課，但一星期後教育部要3-4歲學生接種疫苗後才可上面授課（5歲以上的已接種好了！），願神帶領學校能早日開課。
3. 新光幼稚園老師藍保現在穩定參加教會聚會，他曾在聖經學院進修。他以前因教會領袖的問題而離開神。請記念他得著復興，能每天讀經祈禱。
4. 教會已重開兒童主日學，求神預備老師及助教。
5. 月甜的血壓偏高，醫生說可能是遺傳，現暫不用服藥，但要小心控制鹽份的攝取量。

Dear Family and friends,

        “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6 NIV)

        This is the prophecy of the birth of Jesus many years before He was born in a lowly manger. His birth brings peace and hope to all mankind. As we celebrate Christmas let us remember He is with us so that we can face tomorrow. When we look around many people are fearful because of what is going on: pandemic, wars, natural disasters, and human hatred etc. Nobody and nothing can help us to find peace except our Prince of Peace, Jesus who is the Son of God. May we know and love Him more during this joyous celebration!

        We are so thankful for Jesus who loves us and guides our steps. Our Living Stone Church started in person worship service, so we do not use zoom for meetings anymore. Joseph still prepares one sermon each month; he does the outline and some power points and sends them to our local pastor, Phalla. He studies it and prepares to preach on Sunday. Hopefully Phalla will take up more preaching instead of usually once a month.

        Really appreciate and thank you for your care for us and support of our ministry in Cambodia! Please continue to remember us in your prayers.

Praises:

• This is our first winter in Canada since 2003; we are thankful for the mild weather so far. We are able to take walks almost every day.
• Joe’s hernia operation was on December 6. He is in recovery.
• Alpha Course is going well with the staff of Sonlight Kindergarten. They are open to discussion and receptive to the message.

Prayers:

• In order to register for the 2-year registration of our Livingston Stone Church we need to have at least 50 members with their names and ID numbers, organizational chart, constitution and foreign support.
• Our Sonlight Kindergarten was reopened in November, but after a week the education department required students aged 3-4 old to get covid vaccinations (children aged 5 years and above were vaccinated). Please pray that our Kindergarten can reopen again soon!
• Rambo, the teacher of our kindergarten, has been coming to our church regularly. He used to study at a Bible School, but because of the bad example of the leaders he was backsliding. Please pray that he has the passion to read God’s word and pray.
• Since the reopening of the in person worship the children Sunday School has been resumed in early November. Pray for more teachers.
• Liza’s blood pressure is in the border line. The doctor suspects that either it is hereditary or taking too much salt.

        我們從加拿大向你們問安！這裡的天氣已轉涼，10月29日曾下雪，但我們的心因你們的愛和關懷得著溫暖。在過去的一個月，柬埔寨和加拿大的新冠肺炎確診人數都在下跌。感謝天父的慈愛和憐憫，而疫苗接種減低了確診人數。在柬埔寨，普遍是接種「科興」疫苗，很多人已接種第三針。九月尾時，柬埔寨每天確診人數是九百多人，十一月頭是九十多人。

        下個月是聖誕節，主耶穌降生帶來盼望。祂來到人世間，成為全人類的救主和給我們永遠的生命。多謝你們的關懷，鼓勵和在禱告中的支持。

感恩事項：

1. 柬埔寨「活石堂」將於11月7日恢復實體主日崇拜。
2. 新光幼稚園和託兒所已於11月1日重開，第一天開課已有超過10位學生及10名幼兒來上課。
3. 我們最小的孫子，腎功能已好轉，以前是3個月照超音波一次，現在是6個月照一次。

代禱事項：

1. 「活石堂」的傳道夫婦波拿和沙域熱心去領人信主，栽培跟進。
2. 半職同工屋噹開始第二年神學訓練，願他所學習的都能應用在生活及事奉上。
3. 求神保守教會弟兄姊妹、學校的同工和學生們不被新冠肺炎感染。
4. 青年團契和兒童主日學可以照常運作，祈求天父幫助年青人和兒童熱心追求真道。
5. 新光幼稚園和託兒所已在11月1日復課，請記念主任淑邦有智慧帶領學校的團隊。
6. 約瑟原訂在十一月一日做小腸氣手術，但因疫情延期至明年初。感恩他沒有感覺痛楚！

Dear Family and friends,

        Greetings from Canada! The weather is getting cold; we had the first snow fall on October 29. But our hearts are warm knowing your love and care for us. The cases of Covid have been lower in the past months in Canada as well as in Cambodia. Thank God for His grace and mercy and the vaccines. Even in Cambodia many people have the 3rd shot of the Sinovac vaccine. People infected with covid virus there are only about 100 cases per day!

        As Christmas is near, we have hope because of the birth of Jesus. Jesus, the Savior of mankind who came to rescue us from sin and give us eternal life!

        Thank you for supporting us through your care, concern and especially your prayers! The following are our praise items and prayer requests.

Praises:

• The Livingstone Church in Cambodia is open for in person worship starting on November 7.
• Our Sonlight Kindergarten has been open since November 1. There are more than 10 students and 10 toddlers in our nursery.
• Our youngest grandson, Mattias’s kidney is getting better. Before he needed an ultrasound every 3 months. Now he needs it every 6 months.
• Liza has found a good dentist; she has all the dental work done for now.

Prayers:

• Our Livingstone Church co-workers: Phalla and Savy that they are zealous to bring people to Christ and disciple them.
• Udom who begins his 2nd year of Bible School training will apply God’s word in his life and ministries.
• God’s protection for people from Covid virus who come to Sunday worship in person, and our staff and students.
• Youth fellowship and children Sunday school can meet again. Pray that they are eager to come back to seek God.
• Sonlight Kindergarten: administrator, Sorphorn that she has wisdom to lead the school.
• Joseph’s hernia operation will be postponed to next year because there are forty patients ahead of him.

        不經不覺我們離開柬埔寨有4個月了！這段日子有很多事情發生令世人很擔憂：新冠肺炎的變種病毒蔓延，海地的強烈地震，中國及歐洲的水災，美國、加拿大西岸的山火等……還有最近阿富汗的動亂。

        柬埔寨的新冠肺炎感染個案在8月開始緩和，因金邊市及一些市鎮採取2星期宵禁，但政府官員仍擔心變種病毒會快速傳播，到8月22日已有999宗個案！

        求天父憐憫世人，讓這一切天災人禍都快快過去。但我們基督徒有指望，有平安！感謝神給祂的兒女之應許；祂在掌管一切，如詩篇29:10「洪水泛濫之時、耶和華坐著為王．耶和華坐著為王、直到永遠。」讓我們能儆醒禱告。

        感恩，一些以前沒有參加活石堂網上崇拜的弟兄姊妹，最近都一同來崇拜；也多了些青少年人參加網上的青年聚會！願主讓他們能渴慕神的話語，靈命增長！

        蒙神保守，我們很享受加拿大的生活，感謝祂滿滿的恩典！多謝大家給我們及柬埔寨事工的支持！請繼續為以下項目感恩及求恩。

1. 柬埔寨的新冠肺炎疫情在八月較緩和。

Dear Family and friends,

        Time has passed by so fast; we left Cambodia four months already! Many things are happening that are alarming to the world: new variants of Covid 19, the strong earthquakes in Haiti that killed thousands of people, the recent unrest in Afghanistan, wildfires in the west of USA and Canada, the floods in China and Europe.

        The number of Covid 19 cases in Cambodia has been coming down in August because of the curfew in Phnom Penh and other cities. But the government is concerned that the Delta variant cases will be rising; they recorded 999 cases in 23 provinces as of August 22.

        However, as Christians we do not need to be afraid because of the promise of God in Psalm 29:10 “The Lord sat enthroned at the Flood, and the Lord sits as King forever.” Our God is still in control in the chaos of the world! All we need to do is to keep watch and pray!

        Great to see more new faces on the Living Stone Church Sunday worship in zoom. The members are eager to join the worship service in person! Praise God more young people are joining the young people meeting in zoom.

        We are doing well and enjoying the summer weather in Canada. Your support for us and the ministry in Cambodia is much appreciated. Please continue to praise God and pray for us.

        時間飛逝，轉眼間半年已成過去。我們啟程回加拿大時，柬埔寨新冠疫情開始大爆發，金邊市晚上八時至早上五時宵禁。我們上機前一星期，教會所在的社區是重災區，被列為紅區，我們住在教會宿舍。全區被封鎖，街市、店舖和銀行都關門，街道封鎖，學校停課，居民不准外出。我們擔憂那天晚上怎樣去機場，只能禱告天父差派「天使」為我們開路。之後想起一位宣教士朋友，她工作的機構有一部車子有特別車牌，可以進入紅區，於是請她幫忙載我們去機場。感恩我們在母親節前一天完成了十四天的自我隔離，回到女兒和女婿的家。

        六月一日女兒和女婿搬屋，我們忙了幾天才將家中的東西搬進新屋，然後清潔舊屋。在加拿大的暑天只有幾個月，每年四、五月氣候比較和暖時，女婿會在後花園種植蔬菜。去年暑天時天天有園中長成的蔬菜作為晚餐，但今年因為遲了播種，收成會比較少。

        金邊疫情仍嚴重，教會不能有實體崇拜，只能在網上和會友一起敬拜神，約瑟每月一次在網上講道。我們在金邊時間星期二至五早上與同工有祈禱會，星期六早上有學習神話語的時間。

        感謝你們一直以來多方的支持，你們的關心及禱告很激勵我們！以下是我們的感恩及代禱事項：

感恩：

1. 4月24日平安到達加拿大。
2. 6月1日順利搬入現在的家。
3. 透過網上可和柬埔寨活石堂弟兄姊妹一起敬拜天父，與同工一起禱告及研讀聖經。
4. 大兒子思義兩個最小的兒女，父親節那天在教會的嬰兒奉獻禮中交託給神，求神帶領、使用。

代禱：

1. 全教會都為天莉姊妹在6月8日安息主懷而傷痛，她在世時告訴家人要辦基督教的喪禮，由教會傳道人主持儀式，弟兄姊妹也來參加，可惜她的家人之後再用佛教儀式。請為她家人的救恩代求！
2. 為活石堂會友得著復興，喜愛讀經、祈禱、靈命成長！
3. 為柬埔寨求恩，最近每天都有幾百人確診。請為政府、醫護人員、病人、病逝者的家人祈禱。
4. 為因疫情失去工作、沒有收入的能得著飽足！
5. 大兒子思義正尋找新工作。

Dear Family and friends,

        Time goes by so fast; half of this year is almost gone. Because of the many cases of Covid-19 we decided to come back to Calgary sooner than expected. The area of our church in Phnom Penh where we stayed was considered the “red” district. Many factory workers in this area were infected. It means that the residents were not allowed to go out. The banks and markets were closed. On top of this, Phnom Penh had a curfew from 8 pm to 5 am.

        We were able to book our flights from Phnom penh to Calgary via Seoul and Vancouver at a reasonable price. God answered our prayer by sending an angel to take us to the airport. A missionary friend who drives a vehicle with a NGO license plate was kind enough to take us to the airport before the curfew. God is faithful and gracious to take us safely to our daughter’s home in Calgary a day before Mother’s Day after 14 day of quarantine.

        We came back just in time to help our daughter and her husband move on June 1. It is located in an older area that the houses have big front and back yards. There is enough room to raise a few bee hives and grow a garden with different berries and vegetables. We are thankful that we stay with them so we can help and watch out for each other!

• Sad to know that Tiri went to be with the Lord on June 8. She requested for a Christian funeral service before her death. But her family also did a Buddhist funeral service after. Please pray for her family’s salvation.
• For the revival of the members of our church in Phnom Penh that they will grow in Christ as mature disciples.
• There are still over a few hundred Covid-19 cases per day in Cambodia. Please pray for the government, medical teams to take care of the patients, the families with relatives who died and people with no work.
• For job hunting for our elder son, Simeon. He just quit his old job.
• Pastor Phalla and his wife Savy who are faithful to lead, teach and care for our church members.

        哈利路亞！我們的主耶穌基督已復活了！雖然新冠疫情已進入第二年，唯願主復活的大能帶來盼望。我們上一封代禱信說，過去一年柬埔寨的疫情不算嚴重，只有530人確診，無人死亡。但在2月20日開始疫症大爆發，到4月4日，短短個多月已有2,159人確診，19人死亡。政府下令學校停課，禁止在公共場所、酒吧、賭場、娛樂場所和教會舉行聚會。上星期教會附近的街市有人確診，更有人因新冠肺炎死亡。金邊最大的市場「烏亞西」有20多名商販和守衛確診，全街市有商販7千人，已有1千人接受檢疫，街市從4月4日開始要關閉14天。從4月1至14日，金邊晚上8時到翌日早上5時宵禁。

        4名中國女士從外地入境金邊，按規定應在一間五星級酒店隔離14天，但她們賄賂守衛，讓她們從消防通道離開酒店去探望朋友，又去了幾個娛樂場所。她們不知道自己已受感染，因而開始了2月20日的疫症大爆發，早前又有六名從中國來的人在確診後失蹤。這些事件導致本地人對中國人有些歧視。

        新冠疫情嚴峻，教會附近的街市有人因新冠肺炎病逝。現在柬埔寨政府提供免費疫苗，給本國人接種。我們將於4月23日回加拿大，到達溫哥華時隨即進行檢測，並在酒店隔離三天等候結果，如無感染便可回卡加利居家隔離12天。回加拿大後，我們會接種新冠疫苗。請為我們在這段時間能得到天父保守代禱。

        多謝您們的關心，代禱和支持我們在柬埔寨的事工。以下是我們感恩和求恩的事項：

感恩事項：

1. 我們兩人的身心靈都好，有主給我們的平安。平常多留在家中，在網上聚會、祈禱及教導。
2. 最近有消息傳來，一位婆婆因新冠肺炎病逝，她有一名孫子在我們的幼稚園讀書。因為經已停課個半月，因而未有傳染給其他同學。
3. 政府頒布限聚令，教會不能舉行實體聚會，本地同工和會友學會用Zoom來崇拜。從3月28日開始，有16單位參加。

祈禱事項：

1. 為那些沒有智能手機或家中沒有互聯網的會友代禱，他們未能參加網上聚會，求天父憐憫叫他們不會失去愛主的心。
2. 在疫情期間有些會友冷淡了，沒有回到教會，其中以前的宿生Bopha又因工作壓力，對神失去信心而停止了聚會。求主施恩憐憫。
3. 為教會的同工們在信心上能站立得穩，多依靠天父並得到從祂而來的愛心、力量去關顧會友禱告。
4. 在幼稚園停課期間，每月只能發百分之八十的工資給老師及員工。請記念老師，媬姆和職員身心靈的需要。
5. 柬埔寨政府官員的抗疫措施能有效及公開，市民能與政府合作。

Dear Family and friends,

        Hallelujah, our Lord Jesus has risen! The hope in the resurrected power of Jesus Christ is sustaining us through the second year of pandemic. We mentioned in our last prayer letter in February that we were safe in Cambodia from Covid 19 virus. However, since February 20 there have had 2159 cases and 19 deaths as of April 4th. Before this date we had only 530 cases and no death. So, the government asks the people not to gather in public meetings, schools, bars, and casinos. In Phnom Penh, the capital is under curfew from 8pm to 5am on April 1-14. The biggest Orussey Market near Chinatown in Phnom Penh is closed for 14 days from April 4-17.

        From the news we learned that four COVID-19 positive Chinese nationals escaped from Sokha Hotel which is one of the quarantine accommodations for new arrivals and returnees. They bribed the security guard and left the hotel. This caused chaos and panic, triggering lockdowns in six provinces. As a surge in community outbreak so the government and the health department are trying extremely hard to contain the spread.

        Because of the surge of Covid 19 cases and there are a few cases near our church where we are staying so we decided to fly back to Calgary, Canada on April 23 even though the cases in Alberta are high too. We will fly to Vancouver via Korea. Will stay in a government approved hotel for three days waiting for the Covid 19 swab test result. Then we fly back home to Calgary and self-quarantine for another 12 days. Please remember our trip that we are kept safe in God’s hand.

        Here are our praise and prayer items:

Praise items:

• Two of us are in good health and spirit staying home except going to the market, bank etc. We use Zoom for meetings and teaching.
• We heard that a lady who died recently because of Covid lived close to our school and had a grandkid studying at our kindergarten. God kept us safe since no school for a month and a half already.
• Our Khmer pastor is willing to learn to use Zoom for worship and prayer meetings. We have started Sunday worship since March 28 with 16 units. Some of our church members have no smart phones and some do not have internet connections.

Prayer items:

• For the spiritual life of our church members who have stopped coming to church since last year. One of them is Bopha who used to be our dorm student. Now she has a family and a steady job. But in the last few months she has encountered problems at work and she stopped coming to church.
• For our church staff that they stand firm in their faith and have great heart to care for the members through creative ways.
• For the teachers and staff of the kindergarten and nursery that they can preserve and trust God for provision. They are paid 80% of their monthly salary as the kindergarten and nursery are closed temporarily.
• For the Khmer government officials that they have wisdom and transparency in fighting Covid so that the people can go back to normal life again.
