親愛的代禱夥伴：

        八月初，在南非服事的同工有三天的時間和本團國際總幹事朱昌錂牧師相聚，並開宣教士年會。今年仍然在德班舉行。一位慕道友主動提供她臨海的別墅給我們使用，不單住宿安全舒適，亦方便我們開會和作息。感謝主，朱牧師的信息給我們很好的提醒和鼓勵，也給了我們明確的指引。在宣教士分享到各個城市事工的近況中，我們了解到各地事工的挑戰。我們也一起對南非的事工有討論和決議。感謝主，每年年會都給我們帶來更新。

        宣教士年會後，我們舉辦了中福團事工教會的領袖聯合訓練會，在兩天共四堂的聚會，以「關心你的教會」為主軸，從教會的目的和責任開始，講到教會的爭戰、聚會、牧養和事奉等專題。大家圍桌而坐，除了聆聽講授，也有即時的回應和討論。雖然時間很緊湊，但參加者都得到幫助，大家更有默契，在神裡互為肢體，齊心拓展神的國度。我們已經選定明年五月一日會再聚在一起來學習。

        德班教會的幾位弟兄姐妹在今年領袖訓練之後，提出要設立教會的禱告群來一起為教會守望。除了星期天下午的教會禱告會外，每個星期六我先將下星期的禱告事項公佈。如此，在個人的私禱裡，或在群組的公禱裡，就知道要為什麼人或事禱告。大家因為有一個群組，就有了一個平台發放需要代禱的訊息。當有代求的需要時，只要在群組裡發佈，就立刻有弟兄姐妹代禱。一位姐妹將她的兒子緊急需要留學簽證的事發到群中，立即有幾位弟兄姐妹為這事祈禱。這些代禱給了她安慰、鼓勵和支持。兩天後，她的兒子順利得到簽證。大家一起為成就的事情感恩，一同見證神奇妙的作為。

        九月一日德班教會受邀去伊士台比工廠區和那裡的弟兄姐妹一起崇拜。大家一早就出發到邵姐妹的工廠。感謝主，那天天空睛朗，但是並不炙熱。我們先聚會後聚餐，邵姐妹準備了各類的烤肉、各種的海產、沙拉和水果，還有鮮魚湯和甜點。飽餐之後，我們去參觀各家的工廠和工廠的菜園。工廠區的弟兄姐妹分享他們的收成，贈送一人一袋，青菜瓜果一樣不少，弟兄姐妹的愛心讓我們感到溫暖。那天，大家都很盡興。感謝主！

        上星期一位在開普敦北區經營旅館的華人基督徒和克達聯絡，表示神感動她要提供查經聚會場地給教會使用。我們一直都計劃能在北區開查經聚會，卻苦無適當的地點。我們感恩神為我們開門！深信事工會接踵而來！今天我們房東的媽媽告知我們，她想介紹我們認識幾位開普敦大學的華人學生（其中一個學生的媽媽是她的朋友），看看是否可以一起查聖經。房東的媽媽前兩個星期才剛剛搬來開普敦，真是神奇！請為這兩項事工的進展代禱。若有需要，我們可能要調整在開普敦事工的比重。

1. 感謝主，朱媽媽乳癌手術成功。請為她往後療程代禱，求主保守她的心、身、靈。
2. 請記念每個教會中的慕道朋友。求主開他們的心竅明白真道，能早日信主。
3. 請記念開普敦北區的查經聚會和開普敦大學生福音工作的進展，求主引領。
4. 請為我們外出各地事工時，行車和出入的平安代禱。

Dear Prayer Partners,

        Early August, Rev. Chu was in South Africa for our missionary annual meeting in Durban.  One lady who has been attending our weekly Bible studies let us stay at her ocean-view mansion for the duration.  This not only provided us with safe and comfortable accommodations but also convenient living and meeting facilities.  We thank God for Rev. Chu’s messages that deeply inspired and encouraged us.  We also shared the challenges in each of our ministries, and he gave us clear directions in moving forward.  We are truly grateful for such an opportunity each year to refresh and renew.

        There was a two-day leadership training after the annual meeting for co-workers in churches where CEM missionaries are serving.  With “Your Church” as the main theme, the conference focused on the purposes of church meetings, ways to face challenges as well as the heart of ministering and serving.  Everyone sat around a long table, listened to the lectures, reflected and exchanged ideas on many related issues.  Even though there was a lot of materials to cover in a short time, all attended were greatly enriched.  They were motivated to serve the Lord together for the kingdom of God with understanding and harmony.   We had also scheduled to meet again next year on the 1st of May.

        After the leadership training, the co-workers at the Durban church decided to set up a special prayer chat group.  In addition to the regular prayer meeting on Sunday, Ko-Ta will post all prayer items on Saturday so everyone can pray for those special needs both publicly and privately.  With this platform, any prayer request can be made known and be prayed for immediately.  A sister’s son had been waiting for a student visa to attend university overseas, and school would start in a matter of weeks.  She requested for prayers and instantly there were intercessions by brothers and sisters.  This gave her tremendous comfort, encouragement and support.  Two days later, he received his visa.  We offered up our praises as we experienced the wonderful work of our Lord!

        On the 1st of September, the Durban church was invited to hold our worship service at Sister Shao’s factory in the Isithebe industrial area.  We traveled together to her place on a sunny yet breezy day.  After the service, she prepared a big barbeque for us with salad, fruit, fresh fish soup and dessert.  Then we visited a few private vegetable gardens in nearby factories that belong to other brothers and sisters and were gifted with bags of fresh vegetables.  Praise God!  Everyone had a great time enjoying such warm brotherly love in the Lord!

        Last week, Ko-Ta was contacted by a Chinese Christian who operates a guest house in Cape Town.  She had a burden from the Lord to open her place to other churches for meetings.  We have been praying for a meeting place for Bible studies in the northern area but did not find any suitable place as yet.  Now the Lord opened the door for us!  We believe this will be the beginning of another ministry.  Today, our landlord’s mother told us that she wanted us to meet a few Chinese students at the local university (one of the student’s mother is her friend) and see if we can start a Bible study meeting with them.  How amazing!  Our landlord’s mother just moved to Cape Town to stay about two weeks ago!  Please pray for these two new opportunities.  If needed, we may have to readjust our travel schedules for Durban and Cape Town.

Prayer Requests:

1. We thank the Lord for Sister Chu’s successful operation. Please continue to pray for her subsequent treatments.  May God uphold her spirit, body and soul.
2. Please pray for the salvation of all the seekers. May they open up their hearts to receive the Lord.
3. Please pray for the two new ministry opportunities in Cape Town.
4. Please continue to pray for our safety as we travel to different cities and towns.

親愛的代禱夥伴：

        感謝主，張弟兄和他的妻子候姐妹在他們將返回中國前決定受洗歸入基督。張弟兄八、九年前在德班一家批發城做維修工作時，克達就探訪過他。但是，他工作繁忙，很難多跟他談上幾句話，只能留下《中信月刊》給他。他和妻子遷到紐卡索後，我們不時會去探望他們。去年，他因為輕微中風，身體已不如從前，不再出外維修。前一個月我們去探訪他時，他身體極不舒適，已昏睡了幾天，頭很昏。但是，他怕醫療費用昂貴，不願意去看醫生。後來我們終於勸服他，帶他去藥房附設的檢驗所，花了少許費用，檢驗血壓、血糖和血脂。護士檢血結果發現，他的血壓超高，血糖更達24.4。護士直接寫推薦信送他去公立診所看病。公立診所的護士為他打針穩定病情後，就召救護車送他入醫院。我們為他感謝神。因為神保守了他的生命。若不是及時檢驗及順利送入醫院，再拖延的後果真是不堪設想。後來，我們才知悉他已許久未服用糖尿病的藥了！人會疏忽，但保護我們的神不打盹也不睡覺（詩121：4）。七月初美國加州的短宣隊去探望他，並且領他決志信主。從前，他做維修工沒有機會接觸教會。但是神有神的計劃，他需要幫助時，我們正好去探訪他們，帶他去就醫。當他的心門打開，就有短宣隊向他傳福音。完全是上帝的安排，上帝不誤事。提醒我們忠心去做主工不要喪志，到了時候就要收成。

        德班教會的林媽媽，返回台灣定居已四年，但是，總是惦記在德班大兒子家裡留有一個祭拜的佛堂沒有移除。六月她回德班探親，特別要求我們去為她移除偶像和祖宗牌位，並潔淨她的家。感謝主，雖然她已經不住在南非，但她順服神，要除去偶像，做個了結。求主保守林媽媽的靈命和信心繼續成長。

        七月初，美國加州基督徒會堂有六位弟兄姐妹組隊來南非短宣。七月五日上午在約堡接機後就帶他們到紐卡索。三天的時間，他們探訪、傳福音、佈道、作見證、講專題和帶兒童主日學。神使用他們成就美好的事。一位佛教徒聽從探訪她的譚傳道的建議，開始每天讀聖經，自己眼力不好不容易讀，就叫她基督徒的兒子每天唸給她聽，求主軟化她的心。神行事太奇妙了！另外兩位慕道友和探訪他們的李長老很談得來，並且留下通訊方式，要保持聯絡，繼續探討基督教和信仰 。感謝神在他們的的心中動工，請你為這三位慕道友——曾太太、小姚、小楊——信主代禱。

        短宣隊週一早上就離開紐卡索到德班去，下午他們探訪了德班華人的批發城。晚上和德班教會的弟兄姐妹聚餐．飯後在一位弟兄家裡聚會，李長老分享專題——忠心事主，鼓勵弟兄姐妹積極參與教會的事工。週二上午短宣隊去探訪在伊土台比工業鎮開廠的幾個弟兄姐妹，並且為他們工廠祝福禱告，中午我們就一起飛往開普敦。週三上午短宣隊參觀開普敦的華人商城及批發城，了解華商的生活，晚上與開普敦教會弟兄姊妹們共進晚餐後聚會。短宣隊譚傳道分享專題——與主同行的生活操練與福份，鼓勵大家過一個與主同行的生活。感謝主藉著短宣隊成就了許多美好的工作。

請你為這些事項代禱：

1. 求神幫助張弟兄和他的妻子候姐妹在天津老家找到教會，在教會中繼續成長。
2. 請為患乳癌第二期的朱媽媽在台灣的手術成功和後續的治療代禱。
3. 請為短宣隊接觸的慕道朋友代禱，求主使用短宣隊接續下來給慕道友的鼓勵，幫助他們找到神。
4. 請為待產的趙姐妹代求，求主保守她順產。

Dear Prayer Partners,

        Praise the Lord!  Brother Zhang and his wife Sister Hou decided to get baptized before returning to China.  Ko-Ta had visited with Brother Zhang when he worked as a handyman at Durban’s Chinese wholesale center about eight or nine years ago.  Due to Brother Zhang’s busy schedule, Ko-Ta was only able to talk with him briefly and left the Chinese Today magazine with him.  Then he and his wife moved to Newcastle, and we were able to visit them occasionally.  Last year he had a stroke and was no longer able to work.  Last month when we visited him, his wife told us that he had been in a lethargic state for a few days.  However, due to his concern for expensive medical costs, he was unwilling to go to the hospital or even see a doctor.  After much persuasion, we were able to convince him to let us take him to a clinic of a local pharmacy and get some basic tests done at very reasonable charges.  The blood test not only showed that he had very high blood pressure but also that his blood sugar level was at 24.4.  The nurse wrote a referral letter for us to take him to a local government clinic for further testing.  Because his test results were so severe, the nurse at the local government clinic called an ambulance immediately to transport him to the hospital.  We deeply thank the Lord for saving his life!  If not for the perfect timing of all these incidents, his delay might bring about grave consequences.  We found out later that he already knew he had diabetes but for some reason refused to take medication.  Men will make mistakes, but God our Protector will never “slumber nor sleep.” (Ps. 121:4)  A month later, the short-term mission team from California visited this couple, and they accepted Christ as their personal Savior.  He was too busy for God before; but when he was in need, we were there to help; when his heart was ready, God sent his short-term mission team and led him to Christ.  Everything is in God’s plan; He never fails.  “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” (Gal. 6:9)

        Sister Lin of our Durban church had moved back to Taiwan about four years ago.  There was an ancestor worship room at her oldest son’s home in Durban, and she wanted to remove it.  When she came back to visit in early June, she requested for our help to cleanse the house.  We thank God for her submission to God and her willingness to break off any connection with idol worship.  May the Lord continue to keep her and help her grow in her faith.

        A six-person short-term mission team from CCiC-San Jose arrived in Johannesburg on the early morning of July 5th.  We met them at the airport and took them to Newcastle.  For three days, they visited and reached out to different people, evangelized, shared testimonies, preached to adults and taught at the children Sunday school.  God did wonderful things through them!  One Buddhist followed Brother Tarn’s advice to start reading the Bible.  Because of her weak eyesight, she asked her Christian son to read it to her every day.  May the Lord touch her heart with His own Word.  God is awesome!  Elder Lee was well received by two other friends, and they were willing to keep in contact with him and continue their search for God.  We thank God for His work in their hearts!  Please pray for the salvation of Mrs. Tseng, Mr. Yao and Mr. Yang.

        Early Monday morning we traveled to Durban.  After we arrived, we visited the Chinese wholesale center.  In the evening we had dinner with some of the brothers and sisters of the Durban church.  The team then held a special meeting at one of the brothers’ home.  Elder Lee shared how to faithfully serve the Lord and encouraged everyone to get involved in different ministries in the church.  The next morning we visited some brothers’ and sisters’ factories in Isithebe and pray for them.  We then boarded the plane to Cape Town.  The next day we toured some Chinese wholesale and retail businesses in Cape Town to understand their daily livings in South Africa.   We had a special gathering of the Cape Town church that evening, and Brother Tarn shared the topic in how to walk with God.  We are truly grateful for the short-term mission team!

Prayer Requests:

1. the Lord help Brother Zhang and Sister Hou find a suitable church in Tian Jin and grow in faith.
2. Our sister Mrs. Chu was diagnosed with second-stage breast cancer in Taiwan. Please pray for successful operation and effective treatment.
3. Please pray for the friends that the short-term mission team visited. May the follow up be fruitful in their search for God.
4. Please pray for Sister Zhao to have a smooth delivery of her child.
5. Please continue to pray for our safety as we travel to different cities and towns.

親愛的代禱夥伴：

        感謝主，四月份有兩位姐妹受浸歸入基督。黃姐妹在中國福建省出生，從小就不喜歡偶像祭拜的事。她在中國時，有一位基督徒姐妹主動無償的幫助她出國，至今她還是不明白那位姐妹為何願意幫助她。她在信主前是一個脾氣暴燥的人，行事為人都以自我為中心，做事時又缺乏自信，很不快樂。後來，有一位信主的阿姨常來關心她，和她講有關上帝的事和基督的信仰。她的感觸很深，慢慢也能體會真道，並且對照自己的行為反省，願意順從真理而行。信主之後，她的脾氣改變不少，不再動不動就發怒氣，自信心也增強，願意努力嘗試，也學會了將自己的重擔交託給上帝掌管。現在她能理解別人，對人關心，對生活和前景充滿盼望。黃姐妹的經歷提醒我們，若有能力幫助有需要的人，千萬盡力去做。另外，我們應該盡力將聖經真理與人分享，撒下真理的種子。

        認識孫姐妹已有十五、六年，但是，很少有機會能和她交談，談信仰只有一，兩次。在信主之前，她是一個心靈很空虛、人生道路曾有不少波折的單親媽媽。幸好，她經營的事業小有成就，能供應兩個孩子的生活及學費。她雖然事業有成，但是心靈卻沒有歸屬感，沒有依靠，以致她生活、言語及行為隨波逐流，離開上帝很遠，甚至不敢尋求上帝。但是，神從來沒有忘記她。她的生活圈中有一位姐妹一直對她很有負擔，許多年來，一直關心她，用愛心接近她，和她做朋友，並且邀請孫姐妹去聚會。其實在孫姐妹心中，她也一直期盼能有機會脫離舊生活，得到主耶穌的真愛。她分享提到她真的感受到主耶穌對她的愛，願意與上帝坦誠相交，將心交給上帝。就這樣，她信了主。她信主後，心裡就常常充滿喜悅，她要感恩，要用她的行為見證主已經住在她心中，她要榮耀主，要照著主的意思去生活。孫姐妹的見證提醒我們，世界上有許多的人盼望脫離罪的綑綁，有人落在空虛之中，無法自拔。他們需要被愛和關心，求主給我們有敏銳的心，關心別人的需要。

        前幾個星期我們途經布鲁芳登，順便探訪那裡的弟兄姐妹，多年沒見面，人事有一些變遷，有一些舊友已經遷離，有一些的舊友仍然一起查經聚會。雖然經過不少的滄桑，但神保守屬於祂的人。「耶和華的眼目看顧敬畏祂的人，和仰望祂慈愛的人。」（詩三十三18）現今教會以福清來的弟兄姐妹為主體；感謝神，有福清青年人參與教會的事工，神也興起靈性成熟、年紀較長的福清弟兄姐妹承擔起附近城鎮福音小組及主日教導的工作，求主使用那裡服事的同工興旺福音。

        我們有機會去探望安娜麗姐妹，她是南非荷蘭更正教會Jan長老的太太，我們多年事工的夥伴。三十年前布鲁芳登的華人教會就是從他們的家開始，他們一直愛心服事華人社區。因為他們的服事，許多華人信主。安娜麗姐妹胃癌復發，已停止化療，進入安寧靜養。我們見到她時，她精神奇佳，平靜安詳如常，和我們快樂的交談，關心我們的家庭和事工近況。Jan長老還開玩笑説他妻子安娜麗姐妹的天國簽證已經準備好了，現在等待登機。他們有著在主裡永遠的平安。之後，我們為她祈求，求主恩待她和她全家。怕影響她休息，我們就向她道别。我們沒悲傷，因為我們確信在天國裡還要與她相見！

請你為這些事項代禱：

1. 請為安娜麗姐妹安寧靜養代禱，求主看顧恩待她，也安慰Jan長老及他的全家。
2. 感謝神，慕道友黃姐妹和孫姐妹已經受浸歸主。求主保守她們的信心，引領她們靈命繼續成長。
3. 請為教會的楊弟兄手傷代禱，現在仍在復健醫療中，求主保守他的手能完全康復。
4. 請為張弟兄患焦慮症的女兒代禱，她近況已經好很多，但仍在治療中，求主保守她。
5. 請為我們外出各地事工時，行車和出入的平安代禱。

Dear Prayer Partners,

        Praise the Lord!  Two sisters were baptized in April.  Sister Huang was born in the Fujian Province of China.  She rejected idol worship since she was a little girl.  When she was in China, a Christian lady paid for all her expenses so she could go overseas.  Until now, it is still a mystery to her!  She used to be a bad-tempered person, very self-centered but seriously lack of self-confident and was very unhappy.  Then she met an older Christian lady who showed kindness towards her and told her about God and the Christian faith.  She was deeply moved, started to comprehend the truth and gradually changed her ways.  After she accepted Christ as her personal Savior, she became a lot calmer, no longer as quick-tempered, more self-confident and not afraid to attempt new things.  She also learnt to put her trust in the Lord, to put herself in other people’s shoes and to care about other people.  She now views life with hope!  This really encourages us to continue to do good to others, share the truth and sow the seed of the gospel whenever the opportunity arises.

        We knew Sister Sun for more than 15 years but did not have many chances to talk to her.  There were only once or twice that we were able to share the gospel with her.  Before she accepted Christ, she had no purpose in life.  She is a single mom with two children.  Even though she has a successful business and is able to support her children abundantly, she used to feel empty and insecure.  As a result, she followed the way of the world.  She knew she was far away from God but was afraid to approach Him.  God never forgets her!  A sister in Christ had a burden to help her.  She remains a trusted friend to her over the years and invites her to Bible studies.  Sister Sun longed to leave her way of life and experience the love of Christ.  God is faithful!  She experienced His love when she came to Him truthfully and opened her heart to Him.  Now she is full of joy and thanksgiving.  She is determined to glorify Him by living a godly life!  Sister Sun’s testimony truly reminds us that there are many in the world that wish to be free from the bondage of sin and are looking for the purpose of life.  May we be sensitive to other people’s needs and show them God’s love.

        A few weeks ago, we traveled through Bloemfontein and visited some brothers and sisters that we had not seen for years.  Some had already moved away, and we met others at their Bible study.  Each person had been through different hardship of lives, yet God was with them through it all.  “But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear Him, on those whose hope is in His unfailing love.” (Ps. 33:18)  The church’s current congregation is mainly from Fuqing.  We thank God that some of them have been actively serving in the church; a few of them are also involved in outreach missions in nearby cities as well as leading Bible studies and preaching.  May the Lord continue to bless their service for the gospel.

        We also paid a special visit to Sister Annali.  Her husband, Jan, was of one of the elders at the Bloemfontein Dutch Reformed Church.  They were instrumental in establishing the Chinese church some 30 years ago.  They love the Chinese, and many came to know Christ because of them.  Sister Annali just experienced a relapse of her stomach cancer.  The doctor had stopped all treatment, and she just moved back to her own home.  When we saw her, she was calm and in good spirit.  She was keen to know how we were doing and wanted to hear all the updates of our ministries.  Elder Jan even joked that Sister Annali already got her visa and was waiting to board her flight for the Kingdom of God.  They were full of the eternal peace in Christ!  We said our last goodbye after we prayed for her and her family.  There was no sadness, because we knew we would see each other again in heaven someday!

Prayer Requests:

1. Thank God for Sister Mei. They had made a commitment to operate their new business honestly and legally.  Please pray for all the preparation in starting the new business and for them in finding a suitable auditor and a good employee.
2. We praise the Lord for Sister Jie Ying who accepted Christ as her personal Savior. We have arranged for her to attend Basic Christianity classes and for her baptism.  Please pray for her continued faith and growth in the Lord.
3. Please pray for complete recovery for Brother Yang.
4. Please pray for Brother Zhang’s daughter. She is suffering from anxiety disorder, and this last year of high school causes more stress on her.  Please ask for comfort and peace from the Lord as well as effectiveness of her medication.
5. Please continue to pray for our safety as we travel to different cities and towns.

親愛的代禱夥伴：

        感謝主，我們已經平安回到南非德班。工作匯報期間，除了工作報告外，我們也有機會與支持我們事工的教會和關心南非宣教的弟兄姐妹交流，給了我們很多的學習和激勵。首先我們要感恩的是各個教會堂會對南非事工的關心、代禱和支持，沒有因為時間的久遠而減少。見到我們美國的教會又拓展了一個分堂，我們和那裡的弟兄姐妹一起聚會，可以感受到他們有著一份動力，有著一份關心人、願意與人分享福音的熱誠。我想這個教會不斷發展的根基是在他們不斷成長的會眾。我們也有機會見到幾位已經退休的義務傳道人。雖然他們早已退休，但只要是主的事工，他們就熱切參加。他們還組織退休弟兄們成立禱告小組，為教會事工禱告，真是老當益壯。這些點點滴滴都給了我們很好的啓發和提醒。

        神保守看顧我們是及時無誤的。當你經歷過，就能了解神愛的長闊高深。特別是在緊急危難之中，在每分每秒都是很重要的時候。教會的楊弟兄是一位壽司師傅，三個月前的一個早上，他為新居後園做清理工作試用電鋸，一不小心鋸傷了右手掌，第一時間所想的就是：「糟了！完了！」因為妻子應已去工作，無法去醫院了；回神想到妻子今早因故遲延，尚未出門，還有救！能保存幾個手指還是好的。他們到達醫院時，剛好骨科的醫生可以開刀（雖然緊急，但南非的醫院通常都需要等待很久，以至影響治療），就為他動了手術。出事那天，我和教會另一對弟兄姐妹去探望他，他一直在感謝神的保守和安排，讓他能及時動手術，而且情況很樂觀。現在手指神經都通了，只有一個手指還需要再做一次手術。感謝主！祂不誤事！

        神安排照顧我們是超過我們所想所求的。教會中的阿梅姐妹一家一直生活拮据，她的先生一直都寄人籬下。他是一個憨厚老實的人，為了感謝他的老闆替他們申辦南非身份，不願過河折橋，對不起人，情願自己吃虧。於是，就委身他那份薪金不佳的工作，只求穏定。去年年中，阿梅姐妹告訴我們他們的老闆決定要退休，考慮將中餐外賣店轉手給他們，我們持續為這件事禱告，求主引領。他們的困難是兩個孩子現在讀中學，若他們無法接手外賣店，靠着打工恐怕無法繼續支付學費和生活費。神恩待他們，他們終於得以承接外賣店！因為外賣店是在城的另外一邊，有四十分鐘車程，他們必需搬去店的附近居住，而且要安排每天早午兩次接送兒子（女兒學校在店附近）。教會一位姐妹的住屋離他們外賣店約五分鐘，也剛巧要找房客，因為她的兒子和媳婦現在要常常往返中國，想找可靠的華人分租。神也感動一位住在他們兒子中學附近的慕道友願意開放家庭，平價出租房間給他們的兒子，並且免費每天接送他往學校。真是很完滿！阿梅姐妹一家為這買店過程中發生的事感恩不斷！神是奇妙的神！

1. 為阿梅姐妹夫婦感謝神，他們同心決定店舖一切經營要誠實合法。請為他們禱告，求主引領他們的準備工作，也為他們預備會計師及廚房幫手。
2. 感謝神，慕道友杰英已決志信主。已經安排為她受浸並學習真道的課程。請為她代禱，求主保守她的信心，引領她靈命繼續成長。
3. 請為楊弟兄代禱，求主保守他的手能完全康復。
4. 請為張弟兄患焦慮症的女兒代禱，今年是畢業年，她的壓力更大。求主安慰她，賜她寧靜的心情，也求藥物能發揮醫治療效。
5. 請為我們外出各地事工時，行車和出入的平安代禱。

Dear Prayer Partners,

        We thank God for bringing us back safely in Durban.  During our furlough, we not only reported on our ministry for the last term but also had wonderful sharing with brothers and sisters who are supporting God’s work in South Africa.  We were greatly refreshed and encouraged.  The caring, prayers and support from all the churches were no less than we first started 18 years ago.  We also shared at a newly-established sister church in the States.  Among the congregation was a sense of energy, a sense of genuine concern to reach out for the soul with the gospel.  We believe that church growth stems from the spiritual growth of the congregation.  We also had the opportunity to meet with a few retired ministers.  They still serve in the church voluntarily.  Some of them even rally among the retired brothers and sisters to form a prayer group to intercede for the church ministry.  They are living out a good example of faithful servants!

        God’s protection is always at perfect timing.  Only when you experienced it, you would not fathom the depth and width of God’s love for you; especially when it is so critical that even every minute counts.  Brother Yang is a Sushi chef.  One morning about three months ago, he tried to trim a tree branch with an electric saw.  With the slip of the hand, the saw cut across his right hand.  The first thought that came to his mind was, “Oh no!  I’m done!”  It was because his wife should have gone to work at this time, and no one could take him to the hospital right away; but then he remembered that she was still home due to some unexpected delay, and he called out to her.  He might be able to save some fingers after all!  When they arrived at the emergency room, there was, to their surprise, an orthopedic surgeon on duty who could operate on him right away (usually people had to wait for a long time to be attended to even in an emergency thus caused irreversible delay in treatment).  The operation was a great success.  Later that day, Ko-Ta and another couple visited him.  He was full of awe at how God had protected him and provided him with the best possible care.  At this moment, the nerves of all the fingers are working again.  He just needs another operation on one of the fingers.  Praise the Lord!  He is always right on time!

        God’s provision is always beyond our imagination.  Sister Mei and her family have been living from day to day because her husband is the sole breadwinner of the family but has been paid poorly.  It was due to the fact that his long-time boss had helped him and his family gain South African citizenship.  He is a simple and honest man; he does not want to be ungrateful by changing jobs or asking for any raise.  In the middle of last year, his boss was contemplating to retire and sell him the Chinese takeaway shop where he works as the chef.  We were all praying for them.  They were facing a difficult time as their two children just started secondary school, and the husband’s pay could no longer support their livelihood and the tuition.  The business would be a good solution.  Praise the Lord!  They finally got the business.  As the shop is located about a 40-minute drive from where they live, they needed to look for a new place that is closer to the shop.  They also had to find a way for their son to commute to school every day (his school is close to home, their daughter’s school is close to the shop).  At that time, a sister whose house is about a five-minute drive from their shop was looking for tenants.  Since her son and daughter-in-law had decided to spend most of their time back in China, she wanted to find reliable Chinese to occupy the detached house on her property.  God also moved the heart of a friend who lives very close to their son’s school to take him in for a very low rent as well as agreed to drop him off and pick him up from school for free.  Everything worked out perfectly!  The whole family was full of gratefulness at God’s hand in their lives!  Our God is wonderful!

Prayer Requests:

1. Thank God for Sister Mei. They had made a commitment to operate their new business honestly and legally.  Please pray for all the preparation in starting the new business and for them in finding a suitable auditor and a good employee.
2. We praise the Lord for Sister Jie Ying who accepted Christ as her personal Savior. We have arranged for her to attend Basic Christianity classes and for her baptism.  Please pray for her continued faith and growth in the Lord.
3. Please pray for complete recovery for Brother Yang.
4. Please pray for Brother Zhang’s daughter. She is suffering from anxiety disorder, and this last year of high school causes more stress on her.  Please ask for comfort and peace from the Lord as well as effectiveness of her medication.
5. Please continue to pray for our safety as we travel to different cities and towns.
