親愛的弟兄姊妹平安：

“但我親近 神是與我有益；我以主耶和華為我的避難所，好叫我述說你一切的作為。”詩篇73:28

還沒有來得及回顧2016年，2017年已經隨著人們的炮竹聲來臨了！雖然沒有白色的聖誕節，卻在除夕夜下了不少的雪，給我們一個白色的元旦，給我們煥然一新的景色。而且地上沒有已往的髒，因為人們燒完煙火的垃圾被白雪蓋住了。

感謝 神賜給法蘭克福華人教會有多才多藝的弟兄姊妹，加上技術上的配搭，在去年聖誕聚會中演了一場很好的戲劇，吸引不少人繼續聆聽與戲劇主題有關的證道。一如既往，在特別的日子裏還是見到很多平時見不到的臉孔。由於場地空間有限，無法讓每位來賓都好好正式的坐下享受弟兄姊妹預備的美味食物，但是大家都很珍惜這樣一年一度的愛宴。

吉森團契的成員主要是由幾個在當地住下來的家庭和不是長居的留學生或工作者組成，相對來說比其他團契成員的年紀大了一點。因為家庭的緣故，她們帶著下一代的小朋友也來參加聚會，更有兩家三代同堂的都來團契。因此，團契有好幾位小朋友。由於前年來帶領小朋友的德國神學生已經於去年畢業離開吉森，有兩位姐妹便請纓帶她們上兒童主日學，雖然她們沒有受過什麼訓練。

由於團契成員傾向老、中年，所以很難吸引年輕人留下來，當中一位女生也是不定期的出席聚會。雖然團契的弟兄姐妹也明白傳福音的重要，但是礙於沒有長期的傳道人，而她們因為種種原因（年老不方便出門的、上班的、開餐館的、有年幼的小孩要照顧等）都覺得沒有辦法做福音工作。但是去年年底，他們（包括團契唯一的女生）同感一靈，都覺得很虧欠 神，必須開始做一點學生工作，因為當地有兩所高等學校。他們覺得年齡大，與學生有代溝，所以選了三位比較年輕的姐妹（其實她們都已婚，只有那位女生不是媽媽）來做學生工作。他們則以提供晚餐來吸引年輕的留學生。他們向我們教會提出馬其頓的呼聲，為了支持他們，我與三位姐妹商討開始一些福音預工，聖誕前辦了幾次活動，每次都有幾位學生來參加。團契的老、中、小的成員都積極投入支持學生工作，他們等待在廚房做善後工作的家人時也會參與學生活動的唱詩或遊戲部份，大家都感謝 神帶領學生來參加聚會。

感恩代禱事項：

1. 感謝 神賜給教會各樣同工，彼此配搭一同服事！但各方面仍缺同工，今年更有幾位執事退出，求 主賜下願意服事的弟兄姐妹，一同承擔神家的事工！
2. 庇哩亞團契原本在週五晚上聚會，但因冬天早黑，街道非常冷清，加上最近治安不好，有女生因此害怕而不來團契。感謝 神的預備，讓德國教會願意提供週六早上的場地給團契使用！
3. 感謝 神感動吉森團契全體一起來做學生工作！求 主帶領今年建立學生小組，藉著查經來認識 神！求 主保守三位負責的姐妹，一同學習裝備自己，成為查經組長！求 主保守女生的身體，剛得知懷孕不久就流產！
4. 感謝 主帶領2016年的起起伏伏，保守了哥哥和姊姊切除了有癌細胞的器官並完成了化療；也讓我有機會陪伴兩位離世親戚的家人！
5. 求 主帶領新一年走在祂旨意的路上！

願 主賜恩給 神所愛的兒女！為你們的禱告感謝 主！

Dear brothers and sisters,

“But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds.” Psalm 73:28

Before there was time to reflect upon 2016, 2017 has arrived with the sound of fireworks from my neighbors! Although there was no white Christmas, after snowing on New Year’s Eve, we had a white New Year to give us a new scene. It was much cleaner than previous years because the snow had covered the garbage left after the fireworks.

We are grateful that God has given our Chinese Church in Frankfurt many talented brothers and sisters. With modern technology, they had performed a great show at our Christmas celebration meeting. People were attracted to listen to the sermon which was based on the theme of that drama. As usual, we met many old faces who usually showed up on special occasions. Because of limited space, there were no enough seats for everybody to sit down to enjoy the food prepared by our brothers and sisters. However, every one enjoyed the love feast once a year.

Giessen fellowship consists mainly of a few families who live permanently with a few who work or study. The average age is comparatively higher. Because of these families, they also bring their children to church. There are two families with 3 generations coming to church. So, there are several children in the fellowship. Since the German seminarian who helped teach them graduated last year, two sisters volunteered to teach them Sunday school even though they had no training before.

Due to the older age in the fellowship, it is hard to attract younger people to stay. There is only one student and even she doesn’t come regularly for that reason. Although brothers and sisters understand the importance of evangelism, due to the lack of permanent pastor and various reasons (like old folks with inconvenience, those who work, those who work in restaurants and those who take care of small kids etc.), they thought that they could not do any student work. However, at the end of last year, they were all touched by the Holy Spirit (even the only student felt the same). They felt owed to God and needed to start doing some student works because there are one university and one college in the city. Since the older brothers and sisters thought that they have generation gap with the students, they volunteered the three younger sisters (actually they were all married. Only the student is not a mother.) to do the student works while they bring food for dinner to attract the students. The fellowship also asked our church to help. To support them, I and the three sisters discussed to start some preparation works. We had a few activities before Christmas. Every time, there were some students. Some of the older brothers and sisters with the young kids also participated with singspiration and games while they waited for their family members to finish the cleaning work. Everyone was grateful some students came to each activity.

Thanksgiving and prayer items:

1. Thank God for the co-workers serving in our church but there is still a lack of them in every ministry. There are several deacons who will resign. Pray that God will provide more co-workers in His house!
2. Berea fellowship used to meet on Friday nights. Because it gets dark early, the streets are very quiet and security is not good, some sisters are afraid to go to the fellowship. Thank God that the German church give them Saturday mornings to meet during the winter times!
3. Thank God that the whole Giessen fellowship was touched by the Holy Spirit to do student ministry! Pray that God will lead to establish a bible study group for the students so that they will come to know God through His words! Pray that the 3 sisters responsible will learn to equip themselves to be bible study leaders! Pray that God will keep the student in good health! Her fetus just died during early pregnancy.
4. Thank God for leading me through the ups and downs in 2016! Thank God for keeping my brother and sister through chemotherapy after removing the organ with cancerous cells! Thank God for the opportunities to be with family members whose loved ones died!
5. Pray that God will lead us through 2017 in His way!

May our Lord’s grace be upon those He loves! Thank God for your prayers!

親愛的弟兄姊妹平安：

感謝神的恩典，有機會參加各樣的營會，今年是破紀錄地參加了7個營會！十月份參加福音營，被安排睡在一間六人的房間，由於我睡眠發出的聲音影響旁邊的女生，她便來輕輕的搖醒我，結果睡眠不好，營會結束馬上感冒，緊接著又參加全歐教牧領袖研討會，雖然這次有單人房的待遇，由於酒店與教會還是有點距離，加上天氣轉涼的緣故，至今咳嗽還沒有完全停止。

參加這次福音營，又是一次新的經歷。由於兒童主日學老師不夠，我自薦去幫忙。從來沒有機會在兒童主日學服事，只能幫忙去做助教，剛好來了一位弱智的小朋友，她也願意我抱，所以很多時候就照顧她。同行有一位國內來探親的母親，剛來德國，女兒就帶她去教會，她也很願意參加各樣查經活動，也看見女兒信主後的改變，只是她覺得這個信仰與她沒關係。但是聽第一堂道就被感動，願意接受主的救恩。本來她也有陪女兒上受洗班，所以，上週教會洗禮她也能及時趕上，與女兒一同接受洗禮。

現在越來越多的父母來探親，營會也見到有好幾對，其中一對在我們小組，說在不知情之下被女兒報了名參加，因為父親是官員，雖然之前不願意接觸，但是既然來之則留下來聽聽，從聽道到看見弟兄姊妹的相愛與付出，幾天下來思想大有改變，對基督教也有好感。

最近教會的年輕弟兄姊妹都積極參與新學期的迎新活動，兩週前有加拿大來的讚諾士樂隊的佈道音樂會。昨天他們又邀請那次出席的同學出去郊遊，然後帶了好幾位同學參加主日崇拜。

感謝神感動亞沙芬堡的姊妹積極的邀請，雖然時間上很難配合每個人的時間表，查經班還是恢復查經聚會，就在她的餐館休息的時間，聚會之後她還邀請大家留下來吃晚餐。

今年除了參加營會次數最多之外，也接收到最多震撼性的消息，哥哥姊姊都先後得了癌症，家族裏也有兩位親人剛剛離世。除了姊姊之外，都有安排回去照顧或陪伴家人和親屬，正如聖經所說的：「人若不看顧親屬，就是背了真道，比不信的人還不好，不看顧自己家裏的人，更是如此。」提前5:8

感恩代禱事項：

1. 感謝神藉著福音營講員張路加牧師的信息，讓多人受感接受主的救恩！求 主堅固他們的信心！教會姐妹帶去的二位慕道友雖然決志信主，可是還有世上的事纏累，不願意去教會。求 主感動她們，明白先求 神的國和義，其他的東西就會加給她們！
2. 感謝主藉著各樣活動，讓新人來參加團契或主日崇拜！求主讓我們更多的關心他們，以愛吸引他們歸向神！
3. 感謝主使停止一段時期的亞沙芬堡查經班恢復聚會！求主保守，讓查經班能夠穩定聚會，讓那一區的婦女（先生上班）先聞福音，接受主的救恩！
4. 吉森查經班以家庭為主，近日大家都有感動要積極做學生事工，正在籌備一些吸引學生的活動，求主給他們智慧，懂得如何與學生交流分享福音！新學期來了一位男生，求主保守，讓他繼續願意參與查經班！
5. 因為參加營會、家人生病、離世的緣故，最近到處奔波，身體有點疲憊。求主保守我的身體，加力量繼續事奉！

還有兩個多星期就到感恩節，在此，預祝各位

Dear brothers and sisters,

Thank God for His grace that I had the opportunities to participate several camps this year! I broke my record of attending 7 camps! In October, I attended the South German Gospel Camp where I was assigned to a 6-bed room. Due to the noise I made while sleeping, the sister who slept next to me would touch me lightly so that I would not make any noise. As such, we didn’t have good sleep. Right after the camp, I caught a cold. The following week, I attended the All European Pastors and Leaders Conference where I had the privilege to have a single bed room. But since there was still a distance from the hotel to the church where we had the conference, in addition to the change of cold weather, my cough has not yet stopped.

Attending the gospel camp was another new experience for me. Since there were not enough Sunday School teachers for the children, I volunteered myself to help. Since I never had a chance to serve in that area, I could only be a helper. It happened that there was a retarded child in the group. Since she was willing to let me hold her, I took care of her most of the time. There was a mother who went with us to this camp. Once she came from China to visit her daughter, her daughter brought her to church. She was willing to attend bible study groups. She also saw a big change in her daughter’s life after becoming a Christian. But she didn’t think she had anything to do with this religion. But after listening to the first message, she was touched already and accepted Christ as her Savior. Because she had also accompanied her daughter in the baptismal classes before, she was able to be baptized in time with her daughter last week.

There were more and more parents coming to visit their child. I saw some such couples in the gospel camp also. One of these couples was in our small group. The father shared with us that her daughter made the applications to attend the camp for them without their knowing. The father was an official in China and would have nothing to do with this religion. Since they were already at the venue, he might as well stay to listen. After hearing the messages and seeing the loving sacrifice among brothers and sisters, he had changed his mind in just a few days. He had a good impression on Christianity.

Recently our young brothers and sisters have been actively involved with new student welcoming activities. Two weeks ago, The Channels who came from Canada provided an evangelistic music meeting. Yesterday, our brothers and sisters invited those who participated that night for a hiking and after that brought some of them to church for Sunday service.

Thank God for touching the sister in Aschaffenburg to invite people for bible study group. Although it is hard to find a time to meet for everyone, our bible study group started meeting again. We met in the sister’s restaurant at their resting time. After the bible study, she also invited us to have dinner there.

Besides attending the most number of camps, I heard the most shocking news this year. My brother and sister got cancer one after the other. There were two family members passed away within less than 2 months’ time recently. Except my sister, I had spent time either taking care of or be with my family members, just as the bible said: “If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.”  1 Tim. 5:8

Thanksgiving and prayer items:

1. Thank God through the messages from Rev. Luke Zhang in the gospel camp, many came to accept Christ’s salvation! Pray that God will strengthen their faith! Our church’s sister brought two friends to the camp and accepted Jesus as their Savior too. But, there was other priority in their mind that kept them from coming to church. Pray that God will touch them and let them understand to seek God’s kingdom and His righteousness first, the other things will be given to them as well!
2. Thank God for all the activities through which new comers came to fellowship and Sunday worship! Pray that we care for them more and may God’s love will draw them to Christ!
3. Thank God for resuming the bible study group in Aschaffenburg which has stopped meeting for a few months! Pray that the group will meet regularly and those housewives will come to hear the good news first for the husbands go to work!
4. The Giessen bible study group consisted of mostly families. Recently, God has touched their hearts to do student works more actively. They are preparing some activities now. Pray that God will give them wisdom how to do and how to share the gospel to the students! There is a new student who came to the fellowship last week. Pray that God will keep him and touch him to come continuously!
5. Because of those camps, sickness and deaths in my family, I have been running around and am pretty tired. Pray for my health so that I will have the energy to serve.

Two more weeks before Thanksgiving, so I wish you all

親愛的弟兄姊妹平安：

「耶穌設一個比喻，是要人常常禱告，不可灰心。」  （路十八：1）

今天是學生暑假後第一天上課，回國探親或出外度假的家庭都已經回來了。昨天教會為學生舉辦了開學祝福禮，家長帶了小朋友來參加，都很開心。德國牧師也給小朋友和會眾講了親岑多夫的生平故事。

感謝主的感動與帶領，藉著一位剛信主不久的姊妹，在她積極的提出要求去她住的地區成立查經班之下，我們上週六就開始了一個新的查經班。由於法蘭克福的房源短缺，政府在幾年前就開始在一個區域開闢了一個新區叫Riedberg （立德），全部房屋與設施都是新建的，吸引不少人去居住，其中也不乏中國同胞，據說有大約二百戶的中國人。我們教會也有幾個家庭在前一、兩年搬到那裡，教會的家庭由於事業的緣故、剛生孩子等都不穩定的參加主日崇拜。這位初信的姊妹四年前已經開始住在那裡，今年年初，她的西班牙裔同事向她傳福音，找到我們華人教會，剛好聽到有造就營，便報名參加。營會結束後，講員到教會講道，她也在講員帶領下接受了主的救恩。因著她的追求，渴慕神的真理，多次催促住在那區的姊妹，向教會請求有人前往帶領查經。當我聽到她們的呼聲之後，也有感動去帶領她們，結果 神就成全這美意，帶領我們建立一個查經班。由於大部份姊妹的配偶不是基督徒或靈命比較軟弱，查經班成員以姊妹為主，盼望她們的配偶慢慢可以加入。

自從亞沙芬堡查經班的主要同工姊妹回國之後，查經班的聚會已經不固定、甚至停止了幾個月。當國內放暑假，姊妹帶著一家回來度假時，她也趁機召聚了一次查經聚會，大家仍然是很懷念有查經聚會的。最近有一家基督徒在她們附近開了一家餐館，由於距離太遠的緣故，他們不能參加法蘭克福的主日崇拜，因此姊妹很盼望能在她的餐館有查經聚會。可惜因為餐館作業的時間，只能在下午休息的時間進行，而原來查經班的成員的孩子在下午卻有不少活動，暫時還沒有商量好大家比較合適的時間，加上她們那州孩子還在暑假期間，所以要等開學之後，看看她們的課餘活動有什麼安排，才能討論哪一天能聚會。

最近看到身邊的姊妹們向神禱告，但是卻是事與願違，也感覺有點無助。長久癱瘓的老家人遲遲未能安息主懷；剛得癌症不久的中年人卻被主接走，留下妻兒在地上。不久前有一未信者半夜心臟有問題，求助之後，去看了醫生，保住性命，但開始害怕不知道下一次的打擊在什麼時候，兒子年幼加上自閉症不能幫她求救。因為她住在我家附近，最近也比較多來找我。由於自閉症兒子不受控制，她就不敢帶他去教會。

感恩與代禱事項：

1. 感謝 神的帶領，感動住在立德地區的姊妹們建立新的查經班！求 主堅固她們的信心，在家有美好的見證，叫她們的丈夫能夠早日歸向主！
2. 感謝主使在亞沙芬堡開餐館的姊妹願意開放地方，繼續查經聚會！求主引導大家找到一個合適的聚會時間！
3. 求主賜下智慧，如何去關懷身邊有各樣需要的人，也求主賜下能力去陪伴著她們！
4. 最近天氣炎熱，有幾位上年紀的姊妹都覺得頭暈。求主保守她們的身體！
5. 求主保守已過85歲的姊妹，因為她曾經跌倒一次，害怕因為頭暈會再跌一次！
6. 求主帶領剛開始的關懷事工的培訓課程，使更多的弟兄姊妹願意投入關懷的事奉！

謝謝您們長久以來的代禱！願主也保守您們的身、心、靈都健壯，與我們一起來事奉主！

Germany – Karen Tang’s prayer letter August, 2016

Dear brothers and sisters,

“Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.”
Luke 18:1

Today is the first day of school after the summer holiday. Those families who either went home in China or vacation have already returned. Our church had a school year blessing ceremony for the children yesterday. Both parents and children were very happy. Our German pastor told the children and our congregation a life story of Zinzendorf.

Thank God for His guidance! Through a newly converted sister, under her request, a new bible study group started in her area last Saturday. Because of the lack of housing, the government started a new community in a newly developed area called Riedberg. All the buildings and facilities are new and attracted many including some Chinese to live there. I was told that there were about 200 Chinese units. A few families from our church have moved in since a year or two ago. Because of some personal reasons like doing business, having new born baby, some church members don’t attend Sunday service regularly. This newly convert has lively there for 4 years already. Her Spanish co-worker spread the gospel to her this year. Then she found our Chinese church. As soon as she learned of our Easter Camp, she participated. After the speaker came to preach in our church after the camp, she was led to receive Jesus’s salvation by the speaker. Because of her eagerness to learn the bible, she has asked one sister who also lives in that community to ask if someone from our church would lead a bible study there. After I heard of their request, I was touched to lead them. Thank God for establishing a bible study group for us! Since the husbands of these sisters are non-believers or weak in their faith, all of the attendants are sisters. Pray that their husbands will join in later!

Since the key co-worker in Aschaffenburg bible study group returned to China, our meeting becomes irregular and even stopped for some time. When summer break came, she and her family came back for vacation. She called for a meeting and those who attended still missed our bible study meetings. Recently, a Christian family opened a restaurant just outside Aschaffenburg. Since it was too far for them to attend Sunday service in Frankfurt, the sister would like very much to have a bible study in her restaurant. Due to the opening hours of the restaurant, only afternoons would be available during their afternoon break. However, the children of those sisters who used to come for bible study have their activities in the afternoon. Since they are still in summer vacation, they had not come up with a suitable time to meet yet. So, they would decide later after school starts.

Sometimes I feel helpless to see those sisters who prayed to God but the result came up against their wish. Old age, paralyzed family member still lingers on while middle aged husband’s life was taken by the Lord shortly after being diagnosed of cancer. He was left with a wife and two sons. A few weeks ago, a non-believer felt ill with a heart problem in the middle of the night. She called for help and after seeing a doctor, she was fine again. But because of this incidence, she has fears now not knowing when will be the next attack for her young son who has autism cannot help her to call for help. Since she lives close to me, she would now contact me more often. Unfortunately, she is afraid to bring her son to church for fear that she can’t control him.

Thanksgiving and prayer items:

1. Thank God for touching the hearts of the sisters in Riedberg and helping to establish a new bible study group! Pray that God will strengthen their faith and have good testimony so that their husband may come to know Christ in the future!
2. Thank God for the sister who is willing to open her restaurant in Aschaffenburg as a place for bible study! Pray that God will lead the sisters to come up with a suitable meeting time!
3. Pray that God will give me wisdom to care for the needs surrounding me and power to accompany them!
4. The weather has been quite hot and some older sisters felt dizzy. Pray that God will keep them in good health! Pray that our 85 + year old sister will not fall when she walks with dizzy feeling! She is so afraid to fall again for she fell badly before!
5. Pray that God will lead our caring course which just started and more brothers and sisters will join to our care ministry!

Thank you so much for your long lasting supplications! Pray that God will keep you healthy to serve our Lord together!

親愛的弟兄姊妹平安，

「耶和華，耶和華是有憐憫、有恩典的神，不輕易發怒，並有豐盛的慈愛和誠實。」（出34：6）

感謝 神恩，住我家的女生終於找到一份工作！自從畢業至今已超過兩年，期間有過一份工作，但試用期到了還是被解僱了。雖然畢業於一所很好的大學，她的同班同學都找到工作，唯獨她沒有。加上長久以來的尋找，常常收到的都是被拒絕的回覆，所以常受打擊，經常也會向國內的母親哭訴，母親也承受不少壓力。不過，感恩是她信主之後，也把福音傳給母親，因此母親也常常為女兒禱告！

女生找到工作的地方離我家比較遠，所以她兩週前已經搬去別人家暫住，現在要找自己住處。由於房源不多，在法蘭克福找房子，無論是租和買都是比較困難。日子過得很快，轉眼她住我家也有足半年時間。加上去年回美國述職回來之後，也一直有收留其他女生，所以，我也有一年的時間沒在我的書房工作了。客廳的桌子與飯桌就是我工作的地方。雖然有不便之處，但是有地方能夠幫助人，也有 神的恩典。

最近教會有兩對新人結婚，一對在另外的城市舉行婚禮，與當地教會聯合舉辦，因為新郎是那間教會的弟兄。我們教會有幾十人去參加，有很多去幫忙佈置禮堂和獻詩。雙方的母親都從國內飛來，看到弟兄姊妹熱心幫忙，都非常受感動。姊妹的母親已經是基督徒，弟兄的母親還沒有信，但是也看出 神的愛活在弟兄姊妹中間。

第二對新人的婚禮在本堂舉行，因此教會的弟兄姊妹很早就已經計劃籌備這個婚禮，組織了三個團隊 – 分別做點心、佈置和獻詩。做點心一組的組長還特別在教會練習做了一次，有的回家繼續練習，為求做得更好。由於新娘是吉森團契的弟兄的女兒，吉森團契總動員來法蘭克福參加婚禮，加上女方父母邀請中、外好友出席，雖然舉行婚禮的時間剛好下傾盆大雨，出席人數也破記錄！結果弟兄姊妹辛苦做出來的點心不到一會便一掃而清，晚一步的連點心是怎樣的都看不到。同樣的，新郎未信主的父母和妹妹也深深感受到弟兄姊妹的愛心，也很感動。

婚禮之前剛好去過吉森查經班，之後與一位慕道友談道，提到要送她一本福音書籍，但要回法蘭克福教會拿給她。我便請一位弟兄拿了幾本交給新娘的繼母交給那位慕道友。沒想到新娘繼母的朋友從國內飛來參加婚禮，正好需要一些福音資料，她便把兩套書送給國內來的姊妹帶回去，剩下一套交給慕道友。感謝 神適時的供應！

感恩代禱事項:

1. 感謝 神憐憫女生讓她找到一份工作，讓她與母親看到 神的信實，並沒有撇棄她不顧！求 主幫助她找到一個住處和辦理工作簽證！
2. 感謝 神配合兩對新人，藉著他們的婚禮，弟兄姊妹在籌備的過程中，不單讓未信的父母感受到 神的愛，也讓他們看到 神如何祝福他們的孩子，使他們也繼續尋求認識孩子們所信的 神！
3. 感謝 主讓慕道友願意尋求 神！求 主使用兩本福音書，解開她心中的一些疑問，接受 主的救恩！也求 主使用被帶回去國內的福音書籍，使更多人認識 主！
4. 感謝 主賜下偶遇，讓一位外城來的弟兄在火車上遇到一位從國內來的年輕人，他經常飛來歐洲。經過弟兄的轉介，我們在網上認識了。他最近又過來，昨天終於可以見面彼此認識，他說他相信有 神。求 神憐憫他，讓他認識真 神！

Germany – Karen Tang’s prayer letter June, 2016

Dear brothers and sisters,

Then he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming,” the Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness” (Ex 34:6)

Thank God for His grace! The sister who has been staying in my apartment has finally got a job. It’s been two years since she graduated from university. During this period, she had a job but was fired at probation. She graduated from a good school and all her classmates found a job. She alone was jobless for a long time. All she got was rejection from job applications. She was very depressive and always cast her emotions on her mother. Her mother got a lot of pressure from her. But thank God that she evangelized to her mother before and she became a believer. So, she always prays for her daughter.

Since the sister’s office is a bit far from my apartment, she moved out two weeks ago to live in a friend’s place for a short period. She needs to find her own apartment now. Because of the lack of housing in Frankfurt areas, it is kind of difficult to rent or buy a living place. Time flies and she has stayed in my place for half a year. In addition to the time ever since I returned from my furlough last year when I have been receiving people to stay in my apartment, I haven’t worked in my study room for a year. I used a table in the living room or my dinner table as my working place. Although there was some inconvenience, it is also God’s grace that there is room to help others.

Recently there are two newly wedded couples. One wedding was being held in another city with another Chinese church because the bridegroom was a brother from that church. There were about forty from our church who went, many of whom helped with decoration and singing in the choir. Both mothers who flew from China were very touched by the zealous help of the brothers and sisters. The bride’s mother is a believer but not the mother of the bridegroom. However, she did see God’s love among the brothers and sisters.

A second wedding was being held in our church. Since it was local, brothers and sisters planned the wedding ahead of time. They formed teams to work with refreshments, decorations and in the choir. In order to make the refreshment better, they even practiced doing once in church and some even practice more at home. Since the bride’s father is a member of the Giessen bible study group, the whole fellowship went to attend the wedding. The father also invited many friends both Chinese and German. Although it rained cats and dogs at the beginning of the wedding, there was a record high of attendants. So, the refreshment was soon gone. Those who came in late didn’t see what was there. Likewise, the parents and sister of the bridegroom who were not yet believers were also touched by the love of the brothers and sisters.

Just one week before the wedding, I happened to be in Giessen bible study group. After the meeting, I mentioned a book to a seeker while evangelizing to her. But I had to get it from our church in Frankfurt. I asked a brother to give the books to the bride’s step-mother who could give the books to the seeker. It just happened that a sister whom she invited for the wedding needed some evangelistic materials to bring back to China. She therefore gave her two sets and left one set for the seeker. Thank God for His timely provision!

Thanksgiving and prayer items:

1. Thank God for His mercy on the sister who found a job so that she and her mother can see God’s faithfulness! Pray that God will help her find an apartment and a working visa!
2. Thank God for matching two newly-wed couples, through their wedding and the preparation process by brothers and sister, that the parents not only sense God’s love, how God bless their children, but also that they will continue to seek the God in whom their children believe!
3. Thank God that the seeker was willing to learn more about God! Pray that God will use those two books to solve her major questions and receive God’s salvation! Pray also that more people come to know Jesus Christ by reading those books that were brought back to China!
4. Thank God for a wonderful encounter! A brother from another city met a Chinese young man who came to Europe quite often in a train. He then introduced him to me on social media. Recently he came again and we met and get to know each other yesterday. He told me that he believed in god. Pray that God will have mercy on him and let him find the true God!

親愛的弟兄姊妹平安：

「人若不看顧親屬，就是背了真道，比不信的人還不好，不看顧自己家裏的人，更是如此。」
（提前五章八節）

聖經教導我們作兒孫的要看顧家中的寡婦，在自己家中學著行孝。感恩我家中還沒有需要我照顧的寡婦，但是家人有病需要照顧，難免要盡兄妹之情，回家照顧一下。因此，結束了全德的造就營之後，馬上啟程回港一趟，剛好趕上第二天到醫院接哥哥回家養病。回去協助照顧病人，更體會到 神創造的奇妙。病人被切除一個重要器官之後，明顯生活質量降低很多，以後不能一覺睡到天亮。雖然醫學技術進步，可以延長人的壽命，製造一個假的器官，但是始終不能恢復原來器官的功能。可見 神設計人每一個器官都是那麼重要，那麼的配搭完美。

感謝 神的恩典，除了照顧家人之外，還趁機會與闊別多年的弟兄姊妹見面，在不同的教會與他們一起敬拜 神。更沒有料到還被邀請到差會辦公室與同工們分享德國華人事工。由於每次述職都是回美國，都沒有機會到香港分享過，因此這次的安排稍微讓差會辦公室的同工對德國華人事工有多一點認識。

上週回來之後也參加了德華福音會的年度會員大會，也分享一些法蘭克福區域的事工和我的服事。德華福音會有兩位德國董事成員因為退休、身體不適而退出，但感謝 主感動其他德國弟兄來承接他們的事奉崗位。

五月有兩個假日；這週是耶穌升天節，我們教會有四天三夜的生活營，有七十多人參加。感恩今年有不同的講員來與我們分享 神的信息，當中有來自美國的長老、有德國神學院退休的女老師和一位殘疾的宣教士。期待著這週弟兄姊妹在營裡面有更多的彼此認識，在 神的信息當中得到激勵。

下週假日是聖靈降臨節，也會參加北德的生活營並漢堡華人教會的新堂啟用感恩崇拜，與眾弟兄姊妹一同感謝 主為他們預備一個歸他們使用的場地。德國大部份的華人教會和查經班都是借用德國教會，因此都有場地使用的限制。

感謝 主讓我們經歷 神垂聽我們的禱告！住我家的女生簽證五月初便到期，上週日去教會才發現這週因為假期，政府部門少了兩天工作天，她便開始緊張，心裡壓力立刻上漲。我和另外一位姊妹為她禱告，結果出乎意料之外，辦簽證的官員沒有為難她，就給她延簽三個月，以便她可以完成她期待的面試。最近聽到要簽證的人都遇到一些麻煩，而她一點都沒有，我們都體會到這只能是 神的恩典！我們都為她高興並驚訝 神作事奇妙！

感恩代禱事項：

1. 感謝 主使哥哥的身體恢復得比較快，求 主保守他的身體適應新的生活要求！求 主感動他認識這位保存他生命的主宰！
2. 感恩有機會分享 神的作為，讓更多的弟兄姊妹為德國的華人事工代禱！
3. 求 主保守前往生活營的弟兄姊妹，使旅遊巴司機平安地帶大家到營地，讓我們可以享受一個彼此認識、學習 神話與彼此造就的營會！求 主保守帶領籌備這兩個生活營的弟兄姊妹，使得營會順利進行！
4. 感謝 主對住我家的女生的恩典！求 主為她開路，讓她明白 神的引導，以致她能行在 主為她安排的道路上！
5. 感謝 主賜下兩位新生兒給教會的兩對夫妻！求 主醫治那位妊娠晚期得到血壓高的姊妹！
6. 感謝 主的配合，使得一對準新人將於6月18日舉行婚禮！求 主帶領籌備的弟兄姊妹！

雖然不一定都認識每一位收到此信的弟兄姊妹，但感謝 主，謝謝您們默默的支持與代禱！為您們獻上感恩！

Germany – Karen Tang’s prayer letter May, 2016

Dear brothers and sisters,

“If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.” (1Tim. 5:8)

The bible teaches us to take care of widows in our home and learn to put our religion into practice by caring our own family and so repaying our parents and grandparents. Thank God that I don’t have to take care of a needy widow but there was a need to take care of a sick brother. Therefore, right after the Easter Camp, I went back to Hong Kong just in time to accompany my brother home. He was discharged from the hospital on the next day of my arrival. One of his major organs was removed and he could no longer sleep through the whole night any more. After taking care of such patient, I was more amazed by God’s wonderful creation. Though medical technology is advancing, people’s life has been prolonged, a replaced organ could never have the same function of the original one. One can see that every organ that God created is very important.

I was thankful that besides taking care of my brother, I also took the opportunity to meet brothers and sisters and went to different churches to worship with them. Unexpectedly, I was invited to share the Chinese Ministry in Germany with the co-workers in CEM office. Since I only went back to the States for my furlough, I never shared it in Hong Kong. Now they had a better understanding of the Chinese Ministry in Germany.

After returning home last week, I also attended the annual general meeting of FMCD. I was also asked to share the ministries in the Frankfurt areas and my own. There were two board members of FMCD retired due to old age and health. But thank God that He has touched other German brothers to replace them.

There are two holidays, one being the Ascension of Christ and the other Pentecost in the first and second week of May. Our church will have a 4 days 3 nights camp this week. There are over 70 people who will participate. Thank God that we have several speakers this year: an elder from US, a retired German teacher from a seminary and a retired disabled missionary. We look forward to get to know each other and being edified by God’s words.

I will also attend the camp in the north of Germany and the dedication service of the Hamburg Chinese Christian Church next week. Thank God for providing a church for their own use. Most of the Chinese churches and bible study groups borrow German churches and therefore have limitations on the use of their building.

Thank God for letting us experience His answer to our prayers recently. The sister who stays at my place will have her visa expired in early May. After Sunday service last Sunday, she realized that there were only 3 working days because of the holidays. She was very nervous and felt extreme pressure immediately. Another sister and I prayed for her as she planned to go and try to get her visa extended the next morning. To our surprise, she got her visa being extended for another 3 months without being asked too much from the officer. Now she has some more time to finish her coming 2 interviews and continue to look for a job in Germany. Just recently we heard that other people are having problems with getting extended visa. So, we know that it was God’s grace that she got her visa.

Thanksgiving and prayer items:

1. Thank God that my brother has recovered quite well. Pray that he will adapt to the new way of living! Pray that he will come to know the Lord of life who has kept his life!
2. Thank God that I had the opportunities to share God’s works so that there are more brothers and sisters who will pray for the Chinese ministry in Germany!
3. Pray that God will give us a safe trip to the camp site so that we can learn from God’s words in this camp! Pray that God will lead those who prepare for these two camps!
4. Thank God for His grace to the sister who stays in my apartment! Pray that God will open a door for her so that she will know to follow God’s guidance!
5. Thank God for the two new born babies! Pray that God will heal the mother who got high blood pressure during her late stage of pregnancy!
6. Thank God for matching up a couple who will get married on 6/18. Pray that God will help brothers and sisters preparing for the wedding!

Although I might not know all who receive this letter, I thank God for your support and prayer at the back! Thank God for having you!
